Merlin is the smallest of our falcons. This species has survived only in the raised bogs of the Vitebsk region, however, during migration and wintering, its representatives can be found throughout the territory of Belarus. Males have a reddish lower body and a light gray upper body. Females and juveniles have a dark brown upper body.
Kestrel is successfully exploring cities, where it occupies a place in high-rise buildings. You can recognize it by the silhouette with long narrow wings and a long tail, which allows it to fly quickly. The light lower part of the body is covered with speckles, the upper one has a reddish color. Males differ from females and young birds in gray head coloration.
Red-footed falcon is one of the smallest birds in the falcon family. The adult male is characterized by a bluish-gray color. The female has a reddish lower body and head, while the upper part is gray. Earlier, red-footed falcons nested on the territory of Belarus, forming colonies of dozens of pairs, but today this species can be found here only during migration.
The edges of stamp sheets, edges of sheetlets, coupons contain the logos of the public organization "Ahova ptushak Batskaushchyny" (APB).
